Not only did the kids get to make a super cute and tasty treat, but they had to practice following directions and their language skills. After modeling how to make a polar bear students had to request using full sentences.
Do you have cooking groups in your classroom? We have cooking group every Friday. It is the perfect time to work on generalizing all of the skills we have been working on throughout the week. Our cooking activity targets:
*following multi-step directions
*requesting in full sentences
*labeling cooking tools
*labeling and trying a variety of foods
*counting and measuring
*fine motor skills
I would love to hear about your favorite cooking activity to do with your classroom. Leave a comment!
